I helped lead the magazine’s development of feature articles and cover packages, conceiving of ideas, attracting freelance writers from diverse backgrounds, and collaborating with the art director, photography director, production staff, and marketing department.
From September 2016 to December 2017, I also assigned and edited shorter articles for the front section of the magazine; managed the print budget; oversaw the production process; and supervised fact-checkers.
I spearheaded special projects, including TNR’s coverage of the 2015 Paris climate conference, which involved coordinating and editing print and web articles by staff and freelance writers; working with writers, web developers, and the art director to launch an email newsletter; and developing a social media strategy to make TNR a must-read for coverage of climate change.

Working out of the Washington, D.C. bureau, I assigned and edited multiple award-winning feature articles on politics, business, and the environment.
As a skilled manager with expertise in SEO and web analytics, I helped the Green, Technology, Business, World, and Education sections exceed traffic goals; supervised editors and reporters; and guided coverage of major events such as Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
As politics editor and associate news editor, I oversaw the Politics section, reported breaking news, maintained social media accounts, and coordinated news coverage across the entire website.

Starting in the fall of 2007, The Guardian ramped up its coverage of U.S. politics, with an eye to the 2008 presidential election. As a member of the Washington, D.C. bureau, I commissioned, edited, and wrote articles for the newspaper’s online opinion section Comment is Free.
I led The Guardian’s U.S. opinion coverage from Election Night in 2008 through the first 100 days of Barack Obama’s presidency.
